Australian 5-piece indie outfit Dappled Cities are back with their first new music in six years.
Having released their first album, A Smile, all the way back in 2004, and then 3 more since, all critically lauded, Dappled Cities have been at this for a while now. It would be tempting to call them Australia’s best-kept secret or something equally cliched but the truth is they settled in the States some years ago where they have now become one of their best-kept secrets instead.
Hopefully this new single, coupled with an intriguing video featuring a man seemingly alone in an enormous country house and quite literally pretending to live life – to eat, play games, play violin etc. The track itself is laid back with an experimental edge, and features some tasty 80’s-sounding synth to boot, something which will always elicit an appreciative nod of approval from us.
