After a two-year break, Hercules & Love Affair (DJ Andy Butler´s disco/dance/house lovechild) released a video for their single ‘Controller’ featuring English front-man for The Horrors, Faris Badwan.   The video is directed by artist Rei Nadal and has Emmy award winner cinematographer Franklin Dow as Director of Photography, but if you look at the video, the dancer with the bandages feels reminiscent of a  Lucian Freud painting. Thomas Dybdahl releases a video and new single from his acclaimed album The Great Plains. Hailing from Norway, Dybdahl has been around for a decade and a half-ish now with The Great Plains being his seventh studio album. His voice is rich and engaging and his music full of warmth and pathos and languid emotion. That said, this new single sees Dybdahl getting almost, well, funky, the geeky lo-fi groove coming across a bit like Beck meets Whitest Boy Alive. We love it, and the album, and Dybdahl generally.
